European Director, Taihe Institute
Dr Thorsten Jelinek is a senior research fellow and European director of the Taihe Institute, a private think tank based in Beijing. His research and international advisory work focuses on ethics, governance, security, and privacy-related questions concerning artificial intelligence and digitalisation. Dr Jelinek was an associate director at the World Economic Forum and for many years worked in management positions for leading technology firms. He is a member of Chatham House – the Royal Institute of International Affairs. He holds a PhD in social and political sciences from the University of Cambridge, an MSc in organisational and social psychology from the London School of Economics, and an MA in software engineering and business administration from Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.
