The 2018 reception, held as usual to coincide with the beginning of the Chinese New Year, offered guests an eclectic mix of fine art, great cuisine and wines, music and dance, while offering opportunities to look back on joint successes and chart the road ahead together.

In a convivial atmosphere, guests exchanged ideas and discussed challenges and opportunities for the successful digitisation of European society.

“Huawei’s vision of the future is exciting and inspiring. I hope that occasions such as this one – an opportunity to reflect on progress, renew ideas and imagine what we can achieve together – will prove most helpful in strengthening our mutual commitment.”

“The key words to remember are partnership and openness. This is what we strive for at Huawei. To innovate with partners and to be entirely open in terms of what we are developing. This is the way to create the right ecosystem for the digital society to develop quickly and to the benefit of everyone.”

Charles Ding, President of Huawei’s European Public Affairs and Communication Office

“Your commitment to Europe is timely at this exciting moment for our economy and society as we prepare for the next phase of the digital transformation. “

“Our goal should be to ensure that all our societies embrace the change as a shared opportunity which they can shape and learn and benefit from. This is a key challenge of our time and one I am confident that Europe is well placed to meet. In doing so, we look forward to our continued partnership with Huawei.”
